At LECC, we are committed to strengthening the integrity of law enforcement in NSW, by working collaboratively with the NSW Police Force and the NSW Crime Commission to educate and promote the prevention and elimination of officer misconduct.
The Investigator, Oversight role is actively involved in reviewing and providing analysis of investigations conducted by the NSW Police Force and the NSW Crime Commission in order to determine whether the investigative process undertaken is legally and procedurally sound, and that the outcomes of the investigation are supported by the evidence. Investigators are responsible for making recommendations and drafting statutory notices requesting further information, further investigation or review of decisions on action taken.

Eligibility
- To be eligible to apply for this role you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident and have a valid Australian driver licence.
- Serving or former sworn officers of the NSW Police Force are ineligible to apply for this role.
Essential Requirements
- Knowledge of legislation, policies, procedures and practices used in the oversight of NSWPF and NSW Crime Commission misconduct investigations.
- Demonstrated attention to detail skills and an understanding of how legislative and policy frameworks relate to real world situations.
- Demonstrated high level oral and written English communication skills.
- The proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment in the pursuit of organisational goals
Security vetting
- The successful applicant will undergo a stringent national security clearance assessment up to the Baseline Level.

- Professionally execute individual and team responsibilities to ensure the effective case management of Oversight investigations and compliance with the section's policies and procedures.
- Conduct research and analysis of relevant legislative provisions and other policies and provisions to inform case related work.
- Identify misconduct themes and systemic issues arising from the work and collate evidence or data supporting possible further action by the Commission.
- Prepare well written and accurate statutory correspondence to be sent to the NSW Police Force and the Crime Commission.
- Provide professional services in helping the Oversight Division teams to achieve results in a high-pressure environment, often with tight resource constraints and timeframes.
