About the role

Metaltex Australia is seeking an experienced CNC Brake Press Operator &/or Turret Punch, Laser on our Afternoon Shift to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This full-time position is based in our factory in Dandenong South, VIC. As a CNC Operator, you will play a pivotal role in our metal fabrication operations, ensuring the efficient and accurate production of high-quality components.

The afternoon shift hours are 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm

What you'll be doing

  • Operate and maintain CNC turret punch machines to fabricate metal components as per engineering specifications
  • Operating Brake press to fabricate metal components as per engineering specifications
  • Interpret technical drawings and programming instructions to set up and program the CNC machines
  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal cutting quality and productivity
  • Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on the CNC equipment
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure timely delivery of finished parts
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a CNC Laser in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal technology and programming using different CNC machines
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Collaborative team player with strong communication abilities
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
