CNC SERVICE TECHNICIAN-Sheet metal and Laser

What's it all about?

Due to continued growth and expansion Hare & Forbes' CNC Division are looking for Customer Focused CNC Service Technicians to work on sheet metal and laser equipment.

Candidates will be either currently working as a CNC Service Technician or a mechanical/industrial electrical tradesperson who is ready to take the next step in their career.

The role will join the expanding CNC Division to support our rapidly increasing customer base.

This exciting role will involve working with many types and sizes of CNC machine tools and ancillary equipment from some of the World's Largest Machine Tool Builders working both in the field and in our workshop at Dandenong South.

You'll be installing and commissioning equipment, doing preventative maintenance, breakdown service repairs, pre delivery inspection and testing all while providing outstanding ongoing support to our customers.

You'll be working on CNC fibre laser systems, press brakes and general metal fabrication equipment.

What will you need?

  • The ability to work unsupervised and use your own initiative.
  • Experience with industrial CNC controls and systems such as Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain etc
  • Experience with CNC laser cutters, press brakes and plasma cutters.
  • Trade or Engineering qualifications with a background in Fitting Machining, Toolmaking, Mechanical Engineering or Robotics & Mechatronics.
  • The ability to share your experience and knowledge of CNC machining and programming.
  • Experience in the installation, diagnosis and repair of CNC sheet metal and laser equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional manner in front of customers.
  • The ability to travel within Victoria, occasionally interstate and overseas.
  • The ability to work efficiently, autonomously, or as part of a team as the situation dictates.
  • Australian citizenship or the current ability to work in Australia.
  • A current driver's license is essential.
