About the role
We are seeking an experienced Engineer Assets - NPI to play a key role in optimising the reliability and performance of our diverse and extensive Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) assets throughout the life of mine.
Reporting to the Superintendent Asset Management NPI, you will analyse major events on critical equipment, contribute to proactive maintenance strategies, and drive operational excellence. You will be hands-on in the execution of operational and maintenance works, with a strong focus on creating a safe, sustainable, and efficient working environment for our operators and maintainers. Your expertise will support defect elimination, continuous improvement initiatives, condition monitoring, risk management, and life cycle asset management, while collaborating across disciplines to deliver lasting value to our operations.
This position will be offered on a fixed term contract arrangement for 6 months, with the potential for extension.
Duties
- Champion safety by applying risk management processes and ensuring a safe working environment for all
- Provide technical engineering support to maintenance teams to optimise asset performance
- Develop and maintain asset lifecycle plans, including critical spare parts management and maintenance strategies
- Lead defect elimination initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance reliability and efficiency
- Manage and maintain accurate asset data in SAP, including BOMs, maintenance plans, and master data auditing
- Support asset readiness for new equipment and contribute to performance specifications for upgrades or rebuilds
- Drive change management processes to deliver sustainable asset improvements across NPI operations
Skills and experience
- Mechanical trade or tertiary qualifications, coupled with experience in fixed plant and NPI assets – ideally in a site-based mining environment
- Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and deliver effective, sustainable solutions
- Proficient in SAP or similar CMMS, with advanced Microsoft Office Suite (including MS Project) skills and strong data analysis and reporting capabilities
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of outcomes, while contributing positively to a small, collaborative team environment
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with site teams and multiple internal and external parties
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to escalate issues and risks promptly and appropriately
- Demonstrated capability to prioritise work based on asset risk and operational impact
- Qualifications or training in improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma) and/or maintenance performance improvement highly regarded
