Our team in Australia & New Zealand is passionate about delivering exceptional products and experiences to our customers – and we are now seeking a Finance and Operations Director AU-NZ to join our close-knit, high-performing team.
About the RoleAs the Finance and Operations Director for Australia and New Zealand, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial management, operational efficiency, supply chain performance and ERP systems for the organisation across the region.
You will ensure strong financial controls, streamline warehouse and logistics operations, deliver accurate and insightful reporting and drive continuous process improvements.
You will also provide leadership and support to the Finance, Customer Service and Procurement / Inventory teams and be key in aligning day-to-day operations with corporate strategy, compliance standards and long-term business growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesCompany financial management and control
Direct and control all financial and accounting practices, manage accounts and financial operations (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow management), maintain accounting systems, oversee billing, AR/AP and debt recovery, manage banking operations and term deposits, prepare annual budgets and rolling / monthly forecasts, commercial and profitability analysis, monitor revenue, expenditure and working capital, and review internal controls and group control procedures.
Financial reporting and analysis
Deliver financial reporting, oversee monthly management accounts, variance analysis, completion of group audit packs and consolidation schedules, detailed analytic management reporting by channel, and intercompany reconciliations and recharge processes.
Taxation and compliance
Manage all company tax matters and annual returns, prepare and lodge all required filings including country-by-country reporting, coordinate annual company returns and maintain accurate shareholder / director registers, and oversee annual audit processes.
Operations and supply chain
Oversee full logistics cycle for AU-NZ, demand forecasting, stock planning, product ordering, customs clearance and warehousing and distribution, manage warehouse operations ensuring alignment with KPI's and SLA's including key relationship management with freight forwarders and third party logistics providers, oversee transportation processes, optimise inbound / outbound freight operations, oversee inventory control, stock management and alignment between ERP systems, and direct stock take processes across multi-channels.
ERP and systems management
Oversee ERP system operations and enhancements to support automation, reporting and efficiencies, ensure seamless ERP integration with eCommerce platforms, EDI customers and 3PL systems, and collaborate with ERP development teams to enhance and streamline processes.
Payroll and administration
Manage monthly payroll operations with timely and accurate processing, oversee onboarding, superannuation and employment payroll compliance, and ensure payroll tax and workers compensation requirements met across all states within the region.
Legal, governance and risk management
Manage corporate secretarial responsibilities including general meetings and maintaining statutory records, ensure compliance with governance requirements and group policies, oversee risk management processes, and manage contracts for retail lease agreements, key service providers and vendors.
Leadership and cross-functional collaboration
Lead and develop Finance and Operations teams, partner with senior management, group finance, group logistics, IT and commercial teams to drive business improvement initiatives, and participate in and lead special project teams as required.
Key Objectives- Strengthen financial control and cost management across all operations
- Improve operational efficiency in warehouse, logistics, and customer fulfilment
- Achieve high accuracy and integrity in inventory and master data
- Enhance ERP functionality to support automation and scalability
- Maintain full compliance with statutory, tax, and corporate governance requirements
- Foster cross-functional collaboration between Finance, Operations, Customer Service, and IT
- Master's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (CPA/CA preferred)
- 15+ years' experience in senior finance and operations leadership roles
- Proven track record in supply chain optimisation and ERP system implementation
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Experience in managing multi-entity, cross-border operations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- High attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting, reporting, and compliance in AU/NZ
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and warehouse operations
- Proficiency in ERP systems (NAV), retail POS (CEGID) and business intelligence tools (Power BI, QlikView)
- Ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate service-level agreements
- Capability to lead cross-departmental process improvement initiatives
- Understanding of tax requirements including GST, FBT, payroll tax, and CBC reporting
