A services organisation, based in the CBD, are looking for a passionate and commercial astute Commercial Analyst to join their growing team for an initial period of 6 months. They have an excellent brand and reputation, with a real focus on career development and nurturing. This would be the ideal role for a Financial Analyst looking to take their next step, in a commercial focused, revenue, project and cost focused role.

This is a hands-on role that will mean you will help with all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the management accounting. You will support the Commercial Finance Manager in the production of the processing of the balance sheet, project accounting, revenue accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded;
  • Processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements;
  • Profit & loss;
  • Project accounting;
  • Reviewing and processing of expenses;
  • Revenue accounting and analysis;
  • Deferred revenue;
  • Perform reconciliations of revenue-related accounts and ensure accuracy of reporting.
  • WIP;
  • Partner with Sales and Operations to ensure contract terms are properly assessed for revenue recognition;
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation and explanations.
  • Identify process improvements to streamline revenue accounting and reporting.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will be a Management Accountant/Financial Analyst who has previous exposure to month end reporting, project accounting, revenue and WIP accounting. You will also need to be qualified, either CPA or CA, or maybe close to qualification, with an excellent attention to detail. Project accounting and revenue exposure is essential.

This opportunity would suit someone on a working holiday visa with the relevant experience. Sponsorship beyond 6 months a possibility.
