Reporting to the Assistant Treasurer, the Financial Analyst (Treasury) is responsible for cash management, accounting, insurance, budgeting, analysis and reporting activities within the Treasury department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports the daily issuance of Commercial Paper, ensuring accuracy and compliance with corporate financial protocols.Contributes to the development of quarterly presentation materials for the Audit Committee and Board, aligning content with strategic and regulatory requirements.Actively engages in the debt issuance process, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate successful financing activitiesSummarizes key performance indicators and cash forecasting. Uses data to prepare weekly and monthly dashboards, from other departments to conduct research, analysis and recommendations on treasury data and trends (e.g. interest rates, trends, market trending rates, debt and debentures etc.). Conducts financial accounting activities including journal entry preparation and entry, financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, business planning and analysis to internal clients.Provides operational support related to public filings and any other analysis requirements assigned. Supports the insurance renewal process, including data preparation, and monitoring and maintenance of insurance policies and renewal cycles.Maintains relevant data to support broker inquiries and collates and prepares required information from internal stakeholders to support renewal applications and request for proposals for insurance brokerage services.Coordinates the valuation of assets and properties with internal and external stakeholders and consolidates relevant financial data (as required).Enables technologies to improve the collection and reporting of treasury information.Assists with business development activities as needed.Maintains and records new debt issuance in the treasury system.Prepares the debt amortization schedules and reconciles information with Tax.Ensures scheduled coupon payments are processed in a timely manner and report on the monthly weighted average cost of debt (WACD).Implements treasury policies, procedures and the associated internal control activities (e.g. risk management).Reviews letters of credit and monitors collateral issued to Toronto Hydro.Reviews vendor agreements to ensure indemnity and insurance clauses are used consistently and are actioned to mitigate risk as necessary.Partners with team analysts to ensure daily liquidity management tasks are completed promptly and accurately.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or equivalent required.Three (3) years of progressive financial analysis experience. Pursuing a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in Canada.Treasury and Corporate Finance experience within a large Corporate environment is preferred.Working experience with complex Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, data analysis and reporting tools.Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles.Demonstrated project planning, documentation and reporting skills.Detail oriented and demonstrates strong business acumen.Advanced Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint and Word.Builds Strong Relationships: Invests in building valuable relationships across the organization and externally.Drives Results & Accountability: Has a clear sense of corporate direction, expectations, holds self and others accountable to achieve objectives.Demonstrates Customer Focus: Models customer focused approach in all decisions and actions.

This position is based in a hybrid environment allowing for remote work two days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite Tuesday to Thursday. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
