Talenza have been engaged by an Australian financial services organisation to find a DB2 Database Administrator. The successful candidate will be experienced in IBM DB2 Database administration in an AWS hosted environment. Our client our undergoing an on premise to AWS DB2 hosted solution and require someone to be an SME for the project.

This role requires 3 days per week in the office in the Brisbane CBD and is only open to candidates currently based in Brisbane with full working rights.

Key Requirements

  • Extensive experience administering IBM DB2 databases (LUW and/or z/OS) in production environments.
  • Database performance tuning, optimisation, and troubleshooting for high-availability financial systems.
  • Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning using DB2 native tools and enterprise solutions.
  • AWS cloud experience, including database migration, hosting, and integration (RDS, EC2, S3).
  • Security hardening and compliance aligned with APRA, PCI DSS, and financial services regulations.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills for liaising with infrastructure, application, and security teams.
