About Us
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a wonderful place to expand your career and grow your skills and knowledge. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we provide a range of public health services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Region.
Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney's western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.
Are you passionate about improving patient outcomes through safe and effective medication management? We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist to join our hospital team, where you will play a vital role in enhancing patient care and medication safety across all stages of hospitalisation, from admission to discharge, and through active collaboration with community pharmacists and general practitioners.
In this role, you will provide clinical pharmacy services as an integral member of the patient care team, ensuring best practice in therapeutics and medication accuracy during transitions of care. You will also contribute to after hours and on call pharmacy services and participate in afternoon shifts on a rostered basis.
Your responsibilities will include responding to enquiries with professionalism and courtesy, supplying drug information to patients and carers, preparing in-service lectures, reviewing current literature, and maintaining service statistics. You will be involved in manufacturing both sterile and non-sterile products not commercially available, participating in aseptic dispensing and quality control, supervising packaging and labelling, and maintaining compliance with legal and departmental standards. In the pre-packaging area, you will oversee the accurate assembly and documentation of packaged items.
If you're a proactive and detail-oriented pharmacist looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic hospital environment, we'd love to hear from you.
