In the role of Junior Estimator, you will support the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates with strong analytical skills and a keen interest in project planning and budgeting.

Position Requirements

  • Currently undertaking or willing to undertake (or a higher level graduate program) either a Cert IV in Building Project Support - estimating, OR, Cert IV Construction Management - Bennco will support further studies to reach personal career goals
  • Computer & technology experience essential, ideally exposure to:
  • Estimating software: Blue Beam, Procore, BuildXact or similar for digital take-offs and development of BOQ
  • Microsoft office sweet including Excel, MS Project & Word
  • Photoshop or similar for digital editing
  • Approx. 5 years construction industry experience & exposure
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse blueprints, specifications, and project documentation to prepare time, cost, and labour estimates
  • Assist in preparing preliminary estimates and feasibility analyses
  • Collaborate with various disciplines across the business (Trades personnel, Estimators, Supervisors, Senior management etc.), contractors, and suppliers to gather pricing and scope details
  • Maintain and update supplier and subcontractor databases
  • Document quantity surveying activities and ensure accuracy in cost tracking
  • Use estimating software and spreadsheets for budgeting and forecasting
  • Support bid preparation and submission processes
  • Conduct site visits to gather data on access, topography, and logistics
  • Track design changes and assess their impact on project costs
