Senior/Technical Directors – Transmission
22 hours ago
The importance of the energy transition in our changing world can't be overstated.
Tasmania has committed to critical infrastructure that means the state and our clients are uniquely positioned to contribute to the nation's energy needs sustainably.
Together with our clients, we are thinking about what's next and doing things differently to help get us there. Be a part of this dynamic and committed team involved in the study and delivery of these energy projects and drive change for your community.
Who are we looking for?
This is your opportunity to contribute to another generation of iconic renewable energy projects, in a region known for solving unique engineering challenges. As part of GHD's dynamic, multidisciplinary Tasmanian teams, you will focus on enabling renewable energy projects in Tasmania, Australia and beyond.
We are looking to build our energy capability, particularly Senior/Technical Director level engineers that specialise in Renewables or Transmission & Distribution projects. These roles offer a fantastic step-up opportunity; take a lead in building our team's capability around you and delivering significant energy projects in Tasmania and across the globe. We can tailor the role to suit your career aspirations.
Working with a passionate and high performing team, these positions offer the chance to work on complex, multidisciplinary projects that support sustainable renewable energy development and will see you involved in:
- Providing specialised technical services to a range of clients.
- Collaborating with project teams to design and engineer renewable power facilities, including hydro, battery energy storage systems, wind and balance of plant design for renewable generation.
- Actively participate in client relationship building, business development, and leading development of proposals.
- Leading multi-disciplinary project design team/s with responsibility for design delivery requirements including technical outcomes, budgets and timeliness, and commercial management.
- Support strategic initiatives on developing and growing GHD's Future Energy program, with dedicated attention to T&D and renewable integration opportunities in Tasmania and across Australia.
What you will bring to the team:
- A relevant bachelor's degree in Engineering, coupled with energy experience across either Renewables or Transmission & Distribution projects;
- Demonstrated experience in, or knowledge of, studies, approvals and delivery or construction phase services;
- The ability to lead or manage large scale studies with multidisciplinary teams, be the face of projects for clients and engage with stakeholders internally as well as externally;
- For the right candidate, we will consider a part-time appointment (minimum of 0.8 FTE).
- Demonstrated skills in project management and design management – capable of leading large power projects and multi-disciplinary engineering design.
- Experience preparing / leading job-winning proposals and marketing pursuits.
Enjoy a lifestyle that balances professional growth with access to nature, community and culture. If you're not already residing in Tasmania, relocation assistance can be discussed but relocating to Tasmania is not necessarily required for these roles. Lower cost of living than mainland cities will give you more financial freedom to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle without making sacrifices on advancing your career.
