About the Job
As a Technical Cadet - Civil, you'll work alongside our Engineering team to support the design, review and auditing of water, wastewater and recycled water networks. This cadetship will give you hands-on experience and mentoring as you develop your technical skills and build your career in the water industry.
This is an identified position open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants only, under sub-section 56(2) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA).
About Sustainable Infrastructure
The Sustainable Infrastructure group is dedicated to maximising value for customers and the community by developing innovative and optimised infrastructure plans, and overseeing the planning, construction, delivery, and maintenance of water and sewerage assets across the state and business.
Your responsibilities for this opportunity
Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.
You will:
- Assist with technical investigations and design reviews of SA Water's networks
- Provide support to planning, technical governance and auditing activities
- Contribute to problem-solving, safety in design, and process improvements
- Collaborate with internal teams, consultants and external stakeholders
- Learn from experienced professionals and build knowledge of construction practices and infrastructure standards
Your success in this role will come from:
- Studying or eligible to enrol in a Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team
- Confidence in managing multiple tasks and deadlines
- Interest in infrastructure design, technical standards and civil engineering
- A "can do" attitude and willingness to grow in a supportive, inclusive environment
