An exciting and unique opportunity has become available at the Miramare Group at Mt Ashby estate in the southern highlands. Reporting to the owners directly, we are seeking an experienced, passionate, enthusiastic and self-driven Restaurant Manager/ Estate Manager to join our team on a Full-time basis.
This is a live in role with sponsorship availability and couples will be considered . This is a great role to develop your knowledge not only in restaurants but in property management.
Nestled in the heart of the Southern Highlands, Mount Ashby Estate offers a charming escape where fine wine, history, and rustic elegance come together. Sip on boutique wines while indulging in homemade soup, crusty bread, and a delightful charcuterie plate, all served around exquisite French farmhouse tables within the beautifully restored original dairy.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing their team. Must be professional and reliable and possess relevant qualifications (Diploma or equivalent work experience will be considered). This role is not suitable for entry level applicants.
Must have at least 2 years' experience in restaurant management / operations, and must be able to work in a busy environment.
Job Roles & Responsibilities:
- Ability to lead, manage, train and mentor a team of full time, casual and part time staff
- Oversee day-to-day operations as well as ensuring that staff are well equipped to uphold the standard operating procedures to maintain a high standard of service in your absence
- Demonstrated ability to provide a positive working environment handling employee and customer issues appropriately and in a timely manner
- Capability to ensure effective OH & S standards are being maintained
- A collaborative nature - working with upper and assisting management to expand and develop the growing business through sales analysis, marketing strategy, and greater understanding of the hospitality industry
- Developing strategies to drive patronage across all meal and service periods
- An eye for detail, with the ability to problem, solve, prioritising workloads to deliver deadlines and KPIs
- Demonstrated experience and ability to control costs and drive revenue
- Comprehensive and progressive knowledge of new and old world wines with a desire to enhance the guest experience by providing superior wine service and sales
- Strong interpersonal, motivational, communication, and organisational skills
· Overseeing the upkeep of all buildings, grounds, and infrastructure, coordinating with vendors and contractors for necessary repairs and maintenance
· Planning, organizing, and overseeing events hosted at the property, working with catering services and other staff
· Implementing and ensuring security measures are in place to protect the estate, and making sure safety and health standards are met
· Serving as the primary point of contact for the property owner, discussing requirements, plans, and reporting on estate operation
· overseeing Performance of repairs on farm equipment, fences, and other structures
· Coordinating events, functions, and cellar door activities
· Collaborating with other departments, such as winemaking and marketing.
