Job position
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our team, responsible for delivering high-quality construction and installation services across a range of residential and commercial projects. The successful candidate will interpret technical drawings, prepare materials, and execute precise construction tasks with a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and craftsmanship.
Role Summary
The role involves constructing, erecting, installing, renovating, and repairing a wide range of structural and architectural elements using materials such as wood, plywood, lightweight steel, wallboard, and other relevant components. This includes interpreting technical drawings and specifications, preparing layouts, selecting appropriate materials, and executing precise installations across residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Responsibilities
· Examine drawings and specifications.
· Determine dimensions and installation procedures.
· Determine materials required, order and select timbers and materials, and prepare layouts.
· Cut and shape materials with hand and power tools to form parts.
· Assemble and nail together parts.
· Erect and construct frameworks and panelised systems.
· Lay and construct concrete formwork.
· Verify trueness of structures.
· Repair existing fittings.
· Work with plastic laminates, perspex and metals.
· Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers and coworkers.
About you
· Minimum of 3 years of full-time relevant carpentry experience.
· Abilities in precision cutting, assembling, shaping, nailing, joining and forming.
· Understanding of the construction industry and the building code of Australia.
· Competent in work, health and safety practices.
· Be physically fit and able to grip, crawl, climb, kneel, squat, bend and reach overhead.
· Able to lift objects weighing up to 40kgs (regularly move objects weighing 20 to 30kgs).
· Have good eyesight, and able to climb and work on ladders.
· Be good with hand and power tools, and able to use braze and solder equipment as needed.
· Be self-motivated, organised, reliable, have a great work ethic, be a team player and be able to work autonomously.
Relevant Qualifications
· Trade qualification in Carpentry.
