
Female Disability Support Worker – Nursing Background

Role Overview:
We are seeking a female Disability Support Worker with a nursing background to provide specialised care for clients requiring assistance with personal care, bowel management, medication administration, manual handling equipment, wound management, and community access. This role is ideal for someone with clinical knowledge who can combine professional skills with a caring, respectful approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care, including hygiene, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Support clients with bowel management plans.
- Administer medications in line with policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Safely operate manual handling equipment (e.g., hoists, slide sheets, transfer belts, standing aids).
- Perform wound care and management as directed by care plans.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and household tasks.
- Support clients with community access, social activities, and appointments.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of support and care provided.
Essential Requirements:
- Female support worker (due to client preference).
- Nursing background (Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse, or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated experience in personal care, bowel management, medication administration, manual handling, and wound management.
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent (desirable).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transport.
Job Type: Casual
Pay: $32.00 – $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 24 per week
