We are seeking an experienced Superintendent Port Operations to join our Boddington Processing team. Reporting directly to the Process Operations Manager, you will oversee the management, scheduling, and monitoring of concentrate haulage from the Boddington Gold Mine to the Port of Bunbury. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transport of our product, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, and coordinating shipping requirements in line with our Supply Chain Management function.

This role involves close collaboration with various teams and as the successful candidate you will also assume the statutory position of Registered Manager for the port facility and manage the concentrate shed operations at the port. Your expertise will be crucial in minimizing risks associated with transport contracts and maintaining effective communication within a multi-site environment.

The Superintendent Port Operations will face the challenge of balancing time between the port facility during ship loading and the Boddington site, thus while offered as a 5/2 4/3 roster, flexibility in availability is required to support shipping schedules. Your ability to effectively administer transport contracts and ensure adherence to shipping and production schedules will be key to your success in this role. Key Accountabilities

• Oversee the safe and efficient haulage of concentrate from the Boddington Gold Mine to the Port of Bunbury, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, policies and procedures.
• Manage and coordinate contractors and daily activities at the port facility, including the operation of the concentrate shed, labour needs and overseeing product sampling during ship loading.
• Implement and ensure compliance with safety and environmental management procedures, including suitable PPE for all personnel.
• Ensure adherence to NBG's shipping and production schedules by managing stock levels and coordinating with various stakeholders, including Port Authorities and Shipping Agents.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between various departments and external parties to maintain seamless port operations and minimize risks.
• Regularly track and evaluate haulage contractor performance, addressing any issues promptly and ensuring optimal transport schedules to prevent production disruption.
• Coordinate and optimize shipping logistics, working closely with key personnel to maintain shipping and production schedules and minimize environmental impact.
• Oversee environmental management, including dust control, housekeeping, and the handling of washdown water and waste, ensuring compliance with environmental policies and licensing conditions.
• Maintain fixed equipment and manage the weighbridge, ensuring proper record-keeping, maintenance, and statutory calibrations.
• Maintain site facilities and equipment, including the weighbridge, ensuring correct record-keeping, maintenance, and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Display and resolve actions from Mines Inspector reports, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, ensuring compliance and reporting any variances to management.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Significant experience in large scale logistics management, including ship loading at port facilities.
• Tertiary qualification in a business discipline or logistics/supply chain management would be advantageous.
• Exposure in the shipping field of logistics will be viewed favourably.
• Strong administrative capabilities with high attention to detail.
• Advanced PC skills and computer literacy with respect to MS Office Suite Products.
• Experience with SAP, and other CMMS systems preferred.
