LEAP Social Services is offering a rewarding opportunity to support and mentor young people within the community. As a Youth Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing care and encouragement to children and young people, helping them reach their full potential.

We value meaningful relationships, so before starting, every new support worker participates in a comprehensive half-day induction. This session provides valuable insights into LEAP's services, your team, and the broader industry landscape.

At LEAP, we take the time to get to know you—your interests, skills, and strengths—so we can match you with young people whose needs and personalities align with yours. This ensures a supportive, enjoyable, and impactful experience for both you and the young people you work with.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of our dynamic team, you'll work closely with experienced coordinators and contribute across a variety of support types, including:

  • One-on-One Goal-Based Support: Help young people achieve their goals through participation in community activities.

  • Supervised Transport: Assist with taking children and young people to school or community engagements.

  • Supervised Contact Visits: Accompany and support children during family visitations.

  • Respite/In-Home Support: Support families in establishing and maintaining routines during times of hardship.

  • Overnight Residential Care: Work as part of a team providing 24/7 care in a structured residential setting.

What We're Looking For:

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A current Employee Working with Children Check

  • A clear Criminal History Check

  • A valid NDIS Worker Check

  • A current First Aid Certificate

  • A reliable 4-door vehicle with comprehensive insurance

  • A valid NSW Driver's License (P2 or Full only)

  • Strong English communication and literacy skills

  • Access to a laptop and Microsoft Word

Experience in youth work (1 year preferred) is desirable, but we also value relevant life and support experience—both will be considered.

Why Work With LEAP?

  • Flexible casual work suited to your lifestyle

  • Meaningful and impactful engagement with the community

  • Ongoing support from coordinators and leadership

  • A workplace that values matching your strengths to the right support opportunities

How to Apply:

If you're a dedicated and compassionate individual who is ready to make a difference in the lives of young people, we want to hear from you.
