• VPS3 salary: $79,122 - $96,073 plus superannuation

About Us:

Department of Justice and Community Safety comprises of eight regions, through which compliance, enforcement and regulatory services are provided to the Victorian community.

Located at Castlemaine, Loddon Prison is a 477 bed Medium Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners. Adjacent to Loddon Prison is Middleton, a 236 bed Restricted Minimum Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners. The focus of both prisons is rehabilitation via individual case management, employment, education, training and also the provision of programs and targeted interventions to address offending behaviour and promote the development of prosocial behaviour. Both prisons provide contemporary and quality correctional services that prepare prisoners for transition and reintegration.

About the Role:

In a prison environment, the Team Leader Property oversees and assists with the provision of effective corporate support services, within the unique operational environment of a correctional facility. The role requires a strong focus on ensuring the Justice Officer - Property workforce are suitably skilled and trained to deliver quality services. The role also requires a high degree of integrity, effective communication skills, an ability to resolve competing demands, problem-solving skills as well as an ability to monitor service delivery and compliance.

• This position may require direct prisoner contact and may involve weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS Determination.

Some of your duties will include:

• Supervising and leading a team of Justice Officers and provide team leadership, including mentoring, professional development and performance management.
• Allocating portfolios and tasks to team members.
• Developing work systems, document procedures and policies.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

• Well-developed computer literacy.
• Good working knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations.
• Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary service delivery team would be advantageous.
