Company Description

Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.

Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions.  HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.

Job Description

Are you a passionate Clinical Incident Officer with proven experience in incident investigations, ready to take the next step in your career?

We're looking for a Clinical Incident Officer who thrives on uncovering the why behind clinical incidents—someone who's confident in leading investigations and is driven by a commitment to safety, learning, and continuous improvement.

About the Role

As a Clinical Incident Officer, you'll lead thorough and timely investigations into clinical incidents, ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and relevant standards. Your work will directly support better outcomes for patients and teams alike.

You'll collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, providing education, feedback, and coaching to support a culture of safety, accountability, and learning.

This role will require the ability and willingness to travel state-wide to conduct audits, site visits, and support quality initiatives as required.

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in incident, complaint, or performance management
  • Proven background in clinical settings such as emergency, ICU, medical/surgical, or aged care
  • Strong skills in incident investigation, compliance, or clinical risk management
  • Ability to conduct thorough, objective, and professional investigations
  • Exceptional critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity, and discretion
  • AHPRA Registered Health Practitioner (recent clinical practice highly desirable)
  • Qualifications in Incident Investigation Management (desirable)

Why Join Us?

  • HCA recognises that flexibility can improve employee wellbeing and provides all eligible office-based roles the opportunity to work from home up to 2 days per week on an informal basis
