About your role
In your first two years at Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL), you'll join our structured Graduate Program, designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and real-world experience needed for a successful career in finance. You'll learn by doing—working on-site in a dynamic and supportive environment that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous growth.
Responsibilities
As a member of the Commercial team, you'll gain exposure across the full finance function. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in financial analysis, reporting, and compliance within a complex and fast-paced business environment. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating the ability to work independently
- Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with site health, safety, environmental, and community standards
- Provide timely and accurate financial support to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines and audit requirements
- Assist in cash management, treasury and tax compliance processes
- Support the financial management of capital projects throughout their lifecycle
- Work with data to support decision making, financial modelling and performance
- Gain exposure to inventory management, procurement processes, and sourcing strategies
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of QAL's operational processes, plant systems, and safety procedures
What You Will Bring
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (or equivalent), completed within the past 12 months
- A strong commitment to safety—for yourself and those around you
- Solid understanding of business, finance, and accounting principles
- Familiarity with Australian Accounting Standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- A willingness to tackle challenges and find creative, practical solutions
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to consistently meet deadlines
- A process-driven approach, with an eye for identifying efficiencies and improving accuracy
