The Opportunity

Our client plays a critical role in supporting Australia's economic agenda. With a focus on innovation, science, and technology, their purpose is to help build a productive, resilient, and sustainable economy.

The CIO Division provides a range of enabling services and ICT operations across the department and to Australian businesses. They are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Server Engineer to support the delivery of ICT projects and services across the Division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day operations support and manage business-as-usual (BAU) processes within the Infrastructure Services team.
  • Deliver technical expertise in supporting Windows Server operating systems.
  • Lead troubleshooting, escalation, and resolution of major incidents.
  • Contribute to system monitoring, patching, and ensuring infrastructure stability.
  • Apply best practice cyber security standards and compliance requirements.
Skills & Experience
  • Windows Server expertise,including Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, PKI, ADFS, File & Print, DFS, and Group Policy with AGPM.
  • Systems monitoring and patching using Microsoft System Centre products and Intune (SCOM, SCCM/MECM).
  • Cyber security practices, including whitelisting, host-based firewalls, vulnerability scanning, and device control.
  • Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), covering template deployment, administration, and management.
  • Knowledge of Australian Government cyber security standards, including ISM, Essential 8, and ACSC hardening guides.
