Our new Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) are revolutionising the way we fulfill online orders and deliver smiles to our customers. Your role at a CFC will directly contribute to every customer's order, making a tangible impact. At the forefront of driving innovation, you'll be part of redefining the customer experience in online grocery shopping. Our CFCs, the first of their kind in Australia, provide customers with improved availability and freshness, a broader produce range, and a seamless digital experience.

About the Role

As the Transport Safety Specialist, you will be the subject matter expert, providing technical advice and coaching to stakeholders and team members across the OCADO site in relation to transport safety. Your key objectives will include ensuring the safety of our van fleet, people and safe deliveries to our customers.

What you will be doing
  • Provide expert advice on transport safety, including critical risk reduction, safe transport operations, and mental/physical wellbeing.
  • Assist in the frontline execution of the Transport Safety plan and embed operational practices as part of the risk management framework for on-road transport, yard traffic management, and safe customer deliveries.
  • Manage Health & Safety Committee meetings with internal and external delegates and unions.
  • Develop leading programs to address total recordable injuries for Customer Delivery Drivers.
  • Conduct significant incident investigations and ensure risk controls are in place to manage threatening situations during customer deliveries.
About You and Your Skills

We're looking for an experienced Transport Safety professional with a background in a developing environment and the ability to set up processes. You will also have:

  • A Safety Degree or Cert IV/related discipline and/or Risk Compliance degree or Cert IV.
  • Minimum of 3 years working in an operational FMCG distribution centre, manufacturing, or automated environment.
  • Proven record of achieving results and leading change within a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Strong knowledge, skill, and experience in health and safety, particularly in critical risk reduction, yard management, on-road traffic management, and transport safety.
  • Experience managing transport regulatory compliance.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Exceptional coaching, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to hold self and others accountable to raise transport safety standards.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability in safety reporting and evaluating compliance to transform insights into frontline safety initiatives to address risk.
  • Experience conducting driver debriefs for cycles of continuous improvement (optional).
