The Self Growth Institute (SGI) is a well-established private practice located in Preston (Melbourne, Victoria). Over 16 years, we have been providing a comprehensive range of mental health services via a team of experienced Psychologists.

This busy and growing practice provides mental health services to the Northern Suburbs and covers a broad spectrum of mental health issues and disorders, offering therapy to Children, Adolescents and Families.

Our expert staff team delivers a range of quality services that are innovative and follow an evidence-based practice that is of world-class standards.

Referrals come from a variety of sources including local GPs, EAP providers, Victims Services, NDIS, and WorkCover. The predominant referral issues are anxiety, depression and trauma.

We are proud to say that we have a low turnover in staff due to the friendly work environment in our organisation.

We are currently seeking the services of a registered provisional psychologist for Self-Growth Institute.

The position is available as a Casual Employee Position with flexible days and hours.

The successful applicant will be required to work from 1-5 days per week.

The pay rates are based on the Health Professionals and Support Services Award [MA000027]

The suitable applicant would possess a professional, warm and friendly disposition with excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong knowledge of a variety of therapeutic interventions and ethical grounding is essential.

Applicant Specific Requirements:

  • The Provisional Psychologist will be required to be fully registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapies, such as CBT, ACT and DBT
  • Knowledge in treating a broad range of psychological issues
  • Ability to work autonomously and be reliable
  • The ability to manage administrative tasks including case notes, feedback letters to referrers, and report writing.
  • The successful applicant will be required to provide evidence of registration with her/his relevant professional board, Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance, and current Working with Children's Check.
  • Knowledge in the assessment and management of commonly arising mental disorders using evidence-based practices.
  • Availability to work after business-hours appointments
