Role Overview

We're seeking a talented Quantitative Analyst to join our investment team and support our quantitative research and portfolio management capabilities. This role will work with our investment team and be involved with portfolio construction, research, systems development and ad hoc requests. This role would suit an exceptional recent graduate or someone with 1-3 years' experience in a quantitative role, ideally with exposure to python programming.

Key Responsibilities

Quantitative Research & Modelling

  • Support our tactical asset allocation processes by developing and maintaining quantitative models
  • Help build automated portfolio reporting and analysis tools
  • Undertake comparative quantitative portfolio analysis using our existing systems and tools

Systems Development & Support

  • Develop automated reporting and data visualisation tools
  • Support integration between internal databases and external data providers

Portfolio & Risk Analytics

  • Perform attribution analysis across asset allocation and manager selection decisions
  • Generate and analyse risk reports
  • Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis on portfolio positioning
  • Build quantitative screens and performance analytics for our manager database
  • Support the manager research team with data-driven insights

Ad Hoc Analysis & Projects

  • Support investment team with bespoke portfolio analysis as required
  • Contribute to development of new investment strategies and products
  • Research and implement new quantitative techniques and methodologies

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency or strong interest in Python for data analysis and modelling
  • Solid mathematical and statistical foundation (probability, linear algebra, time series analysis)
  • Genuine interest in financial markets and investment management
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, finance, or related quantitative field. Quantitative post graduate qualification looked upon favourably.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with financial data providers (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or similar)
  • Knowledge of other programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML
  • Experience with version control systems (Git/GitHub)
  • Knowledge of portfolio theory and risk management concepts
  • Familiarity with SQL and database management
  • Progress towards CFA or similar qualification

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with investment team
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to continuously improve processes
  • Clear communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
