What is the role about?
Based in Brisbane, this role will see you provide expert legal advice across our operations in ANZ and internationally. You'll work closely with project teams and senior leaders, with a strong focus on front-end construction law, project delivery, and corporate compliance.

What does a day look like?

  • Contracts: Drafting, negotiating, and advising on engineering and construction agreements, ensuring smooth contractual setup, compliance with applicable laws, policies and procedures, and risk mitigation. Experience with D&C, ITC, EPCM, and Alliance models is essential.
  • Disputes & Insurance: Managing claims and litigation, including professional indemnity matters, in collaboration with internal teams, insurers, and external counsel.
  • Training & Education: Delivering legal and commercial training to project teams to promote risk awareness and legal understanding.
  • Compliance & Governance: Maintaining internal policies, implementing legal updates, and contributing to monthly legal communications.
  • Knowledge Management: Supporting the development of legal precedents and resources.
  • Team Leadership: Mentoring junior legal staff and contributing to team strategy and growth.
  • Corporate Advisory: Providing ad hoc legal advice on corporate law, IP, privacy, competition law, and insurance.

What You'll Bring

  • Law degree and current Australian practising certificate
  • 5–10 years' post-qualification experience
  • Experience in either consulting engineering/architecture or the construction sector
  • Strong understanding of procurement models and contract law
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous learning
