About the role

Booth Transport is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our maintenance team at our Acacia Ridge, Queensland facility. As the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of our vehicle workshop, ensuring all maintenance and repair work is carried out to the highest standard. This full-time role is essential in supporting the ongoing success of our transport operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop, including scheduling maintenance, assigning tasks to technicians, and monitoring workflow.
  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans and procedures to maximise the efficiency and reliability of our fleet.
  • Manage a team of skilled automotive technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Liaise with the operations team to coordinate vehicle schedules and respond to any urgent maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and costs.
  • Monitor workshop budgets and make recommendations to improve cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.

What we're looking for

  • Significant experience as a Workshop Manager or in a similar senior automotive maintenance role
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of technicians.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with maintenance tracking systems and fleet management software.
  • Relevant trade qualifications or certifications.
