About the job
The Senior Category Support Officer plays a vital role in delivering efficient and effective procurement services across SA Water. Focused on medium to low spend and risk activities, the role provides expert guidance to stakeholders, supports strategic sourcing decisions, and ensures compliance with procurement policies. It involves managing supplier relationships, conducting market research, negotiating contracts, and maintaining accurate procurement records. With a strong emphasis on collaboration, data analysis, and continuous improvement, this position supports the broader Category Teams and contributes to the success of SA Water's supply chain operations.

Your responsibilities for this opportunity
Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.
You will:
- Deliver procurement outcomes that drive value for money
 - Provide specialist advice and conduct market research
 - Manage supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract variations
 - Ensure compliance with procurement policies and risk frameworks
 - Build strong stakeholder relationships and deliver training
 - Support commercial management and reporting activities
 - Maintain procurement records and contribute to continuous improvement
 
Your success in this role will come from:
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, including sourcing, tendering, and contracting
 - Strong administrative and financial support capabilities
 - Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
 - Intermediate skills in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
 - Experience with ERP systems (Ellipse or similar) is desirable
 - A collaborative mindset and strong stakeholder engagement skills
