As our current Head of Production steps into a Director of Operations role, we're opening the door to a role that rarely becomes available - Head of Production at one of Australia's most respected and forward-thinking event production companies.

AV1 is raising the bar in technical capability and delivering extraordinary experiences for some of the biggest Australian and international brands, and we're looking for a new Head of Production who can lead from the front.

This is your chance to take the reins of our talented production crew, shaping the future of live event delivery for some of Australia's most exciting clients. You'll guide projects from concept to that walk up sting, ensuring every detail is spot on, every team member feels supported, and every event has that wow
moment.

What will you be up to in this role?

  • Lead and grow our production team
    : Mentor, inspire, and set the standard for excellence.
  • Be the technical guru
    : Providing guidance, problem-solving, and creative solutions for clients, producers, and crew.
  • Collaborate with Producers
    : To allocate the right people, skills, and equipment for each event.
  • Oversee pre-production
    : From Vectorworks plans to detailed event briefs – so every show runs like clockwork.
  • Champion on-site deliver
    y: Ensuring smooth execution, quick problem-solving, and a great experience for clients and crew alike.
  • Develop our crew
    : With training programs, skills mapping, and opportunities for growth.
  • Drive
     
    innovation
    : Improving processes, exploring new technologies, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

We are looking for someone who...

  • Has Senior-level experience in live event production with strong technical expertise across equipment and systems (minimum 15 years industry experience)
  • Is a natural leader who builds positive team culture and mentors others to thrive.
  • Has exceptional communication skills – with clients, colleagues, and crew.
  • Is skilled in project management, resource planning, and budget control.
  • Has experience and proficiency in Vectorworks and a love for precision planning.
