
Automotive Mechanic

- Perform diagnostic tests on vehicles using advanced diagnostic equipment to identify issues and provide accurate repair solutions.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- Repair and replace parts, components, and systems, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, exhaust systems, and electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical problems, ensuring all systems are functioning properly and safely.
- Follow manufacturer's guidelines and technical specifications when performing repairs and maintenance.
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify and potential issues to customers.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all work performed, including detailed service reports and parts used.
- Collaborate closely with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely service delivery.
- Liaise with and report to the Workshop Manager regarding all issues with clients' cars.
- Collaborate with the Workshop Manager on all warranty issues as required.
- Ensure, to the best of your knowledge that all cars going through the workshop are mechanically safe and sound and do not require any repairs, and they will remain in that condition apart from normal wear and tear before they are handed over.
- Stay current with the latest automotive advancements, including new technologies, repair techniques, and industry trends.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs, options, and cost estimates to customers in a clear and friendly manner.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being of both yourself and the customers' vehicles.
- Ensure a clean and organized work area and proper disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
- Perform test drives and quality checks to verify the success of repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain the day-to-day operations of the workshop floor in coordination with the Workshop Manager
- At least Certificate III or IV in Light Vehicle Mechanic (Or overseas equivalent).
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above
- At least 12 months experience as Motor Mechanic is required
- Valid drivers licence
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Understanding of automotive systems, components, and their functions.
- Strong advanced diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able assist other mechanics and share knowledge and experience.
