Key Capabilities
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Degree level qualification in a relevant human services discipline (or 5 years' experience in a similar field will be considered).
- Minimum of 3 years' full time equivalent professional experience in a relevant human services discipline.
- Advanced experience working with current legislation (Domestic and Family Violence Act 2012, Child Protection Act 1999), Common Risk Assessment Framework and DFV Information Sharing Guidelines.
- Experience line managing and supervising staff, providing direction and specialist practice advise.
- Experience leading a team delivering programs and service to meet the needs of clients.
- Experience as a Men's Behaviour Change Facilitator in accordance with the Qld Government Perpetrator Intervention Services Requirements is highly desirable otherwise knowledge of such required.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Comprehensive knowledge of domestic and family violence, including the principles of trauma-informed practice, application of appropriate risk assessment and response and an understanding of high-risk indicators and protective factors.
- Able to coordinate and oversee the delivery of domestic and family violence prevention work utilising contemporary practices.
- Advanced capability in complex decision-making, balancing safety, best practice, resource limitations and desired outcomes.
- Accomplished and able to adapt and tailor approaches to ensure genuine cultural capability for self and staff to meet the context and experience of First Nations peoples.
- Advanced understanding of the complex ways in which children are harmed through experiencing violence, and the tactics of control and abuse of power that they experience.
- Has a superior understanding of intersectionality and systematic inequity and challenges and advocates for system change.
- Advanced communication skills with the ability to provide high quality verbal information and produce accurate and timely written documents including case management plans, reports, and statistical data.
- Able to lead the establishment and regular review of policies and practices to ensure compliance with legislation and drives ongoing improvement practices and processes.
- Drives a focus on outcomes and evidence in organisational performance.
- Demonstrated ability to refer to emerging evidence to inform decision making, program design, tenders, and submissions.

Required Screening
- Current QLD C Class Driver's License which must remain current during the term of employment.
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card) which must remain current during the term of employment.
- Australia: National Police Check Clearance – at organisation expense.
Roles and Responsibilities
Line Management
- Line management and supervision of staff, including monthly supervision and annual appraisals.
- Maintain regular contact with freelance facilitators, where applicable.
- Review and approve timesheets and leave requests maintaining appropriate coverage.
- Develop and oversee an on call roster to ensure adequate coverage to meet contractual requirements as part of the Electronic Monitoring Pilot Program.
- Provide specialist practice advice and coaching to ensure fulfilment of service requirements.
- Ensure staff are fully aware of their responsibilities outlined in Policy, with particular attention to Privacy and Confidentiality, Conflict of Interest, Access & Inclusion, Code of Conduct.
- Ensure staff are aware of appropriate case noting in Client Management System or any other required system.
- Manage performance concerns through early intervention or disciplinary process where necessary in line with Policy and Procedure.
