ABOUT THE COMPANY.

Western Sydney Local Council seeking a diligent and experienced Senior Governance & GIPA Officer to join their team. You'll become a pivotal part of the team, ensuring they continue to perform with high levels of efficiency and professionalism in their day-to-day operation. 

ABOUT THE POSITION.

An initial 3-month opportunity for a Governance & GIPA Officer. You will work alongside a team of highly driven governance professionals, and mentor Junior staff. You will be expected to work with demonstrated efficiency to provide support in the coordination, maintenance and communication of robust governance frameworks and supporting policies.

DUTIES.

  • Ensure compliance with governance, delegations, and statutory obligations
  • Review and improve policies, procedures, and service delivery
  • Lead governance training and manage key systems and registers
  • Advise on GIPA, privacy, and statutory investigations
  • Manage projects and lead teams to drive governance outcomes

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.

  • 5+ years' proven leadership in local government governance
  • Expert in GIPA Act and legislative compliance
  • Strong ability to interpret legislation and advise on governance impact
  • Exceptional communicator with advanced negotiation and reporting skills
  • Skilled in developing and delivering governance training and policies

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS.

  • $71 p/h + Superannuation
