Our client is a very progressive Federal Government Agency

The Senior Systems Engineer is a newly created role working as part of a small team based in Sydney (can also be based in Melbourne or Canberra) providing both project and BAU support.

The key responsibilities will entail:

  • Microsoft 365 Defender (Advanced Threat Protection) administration
  • Deploying IaC using Azure Bicep
  • Administer Citrix Virtual apps and desktops or updating Citrix and VMware VDI images
  • Automation through PowerShell
  • Docker container admin and deployment
  • Implementing security controls  (PSPF, ISM, NIST)
  • SQL Server/D365 on prem and cloud and SharePoint admin
  • Utilise Jira for issue tracking and project management

Your background will include:

  • Experience supporting Windows server /desktop environments
  • Microsoft Endpoint Manger  (SCCM/Intune)
  • Application packaging
  • DHCP, AD, DNS, Group Policy, VMWare
  • Microsoft 365 Defender/ Advanced Threat Protection (desirable)
  • Knowledge of deployment of Infrastructure as a Code (IaC) using Bicep
  • Experience in Docker containerisation

This will be an initial contract to the end of June 2026  with likely extension and will be an EL1 equivalent
