The Role

As the Automotive Accessories Fitter/Assembler Team Leader, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day coordination of the fitting and assembly area, ensuring quality workmanship, safety, and efficiency.

You'll work hands-on alongside your team, fitting accessories to light commercial vehicles (vans and utes), while mentoring others, maintaining workflow, and ensuring builds are completed to schedule and to the highest standard.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical side of fitting and the satisfaction of leading a motivated, capable team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a small team of fitters/assemblers in day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate workflow, manage priorities, and ensure jobs are completed on time.
  • Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide hands-on fitting and assembly of accessories and vehicle components.
  • Train and mentor team members, sharing your technical knowledge and experience.
  • Liaise with supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth production flow.

Skills and Experience

We're looking for an enthusiastic and skilled individual with strong technical ability and proven leadership qualities.

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in automotive accessory fitting, fabrication, or related trade.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor team members.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven commitment to quality and safe work practices.
  • Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

Desirable:

  • Electrical or automotive electrical experience (training available).
  • Background in the caravan or light commercial vehicle industry.
  • Experience in production or workshop coordination roles.
