About Us

The CaPTA Group, a leading tourism and hospitality organisation, is embarking on a strategic Cloud Migration Project to enhance our digital infrastructure. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Migration Specialist to lead this critical initiative. This fixed-term contract (6-9 months) offers an immediate start and a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote flexibility with essential on-site collaboration in our Cairns office.

About The Project:

The Cloud Migration Project is a strategic initiative aimed at transitioning our organisation's current server-based file storage system to a fully cloud-based solution utilising Microsoft Office 365 tools — specifically Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive. This transformation is intended to enhance collaboration, streamline document management, improve remote access, and increase security across all our companies and departments.

The successful implementation of this project will result in:

- A streamlined, cloud-based document management system.

- Clearly defined governance for long-term sustainability and compliance.

- Improved collaboration and information sharing across the organisation.

- Enhanced document security, version control, and auditability.

- Increased staff capability and confidence in using Office 365 tools.

Position Details:

- Employment Type: Fixed-Term Contract (Consultant/Contractor) or Temporary Employee. Negotiable.

- Contract: 6-9 months

- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (combining remote work with essential on-site presence in the Cairns aera, Far North QLD)

- Location: Cairns, QLD

Your Pivotal Role: Leading Our Cloud Transition

As our Cloud Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing the entire migration process in close consultation with internal stakeholders across the CaPTA Group. Your expertise will be key to achieving our project objectives and driving successful adoption of Microsoft 365. You may also have the potential to support our team in investigating Microsoft Dynamics 365 as a CRM option.

Key Project Objectives:

- Migrate all documents and files from existing server infrastructure to Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).

- Design and implement clear file structures and naming conventions that support operational efficiency and are intuitive for staff across diverse departments.

- Establish appropriate security permissions to ensure data integrity and confidentiality is maintained for each business unit and department.

- Develop and implement a governance framework for ongoing management, compliance, and user accountability within the Office 365 environment.

- Develop and execute a comprehensive training plan to ensure all employees are confident and competent in using the new cloud-based system.

Key Project Objectives:

- Complete migration of server-based documents and file structures to Office 365.

- Clearly documented and implemented file structure and naming standards.

- Security and access controls established and tested for all departments.

- Governance framework designed, documented, and implemented.

- Training plan tailored to job roles and levels of technical ability.

- Supporting documentation and resources for ongoing internal management.

What We're Looking For: Your Expertise

We are seeking a highly capable individual with a proven track record in successful cloud migration projects.

Essential Skills & Experience:

- Proven experience in Office 365 administration, particularly SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.

- Strong background in information architecture, including document organisation and naming conventions.

- Expertise in configuring and managing access permissions across multiple business entities.

- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement governance models covering document lifecycle management, user access policies, data retention, and compliance.

- Ability to lead change management, including stakeholder engagement and staff training delivery.

- Excellent communication skills to document processes and train staff at varying levels of digital literacy.
