Key duties include:
- Coordinating all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, and conservation to ensure compliance with environmental legislation
- Designing and implementing comprehensive policies and procedures for resource management, hazard identification, incident management, crisis response, and risk assessment—ensuring complete alignment with relevant environmental legislation, Australian law, NDIS requirements, and child protection standards
- Developing and implementing environmental strategies, policies, practices, and action plans to ensure business sustainable development.
- Carrying out impact assessments to identify, assess, and reduce an organization's environmental risks and financial costs
- Conducting and reporting environmental and social impact assessments, advanced data analysis, and driving audit-based improvements to organisational and community outcomes
- Assessing, evaluating, and monitoring the sustainability and environmental impact of ICARE Youth and Community Services activities
- Promoting, raising awareness, and training staff at all levels on environmental issues and responsibilities
- Analysing environmental performance data and providing recommendations on best environmental and sustainability practices
- Auditing, analysing, and reporting environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies.
- Planning budgets, timelines, and resources required to improve the sustainability and environmental performance of ICARE Youth and Community Services
About the Candidate:
- AQF Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related field
- At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role within the Environmental Management space
- Demonstrated mastery of ISO Environmental Management Systems) and ISO Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems), with proven experience in auditing, implementing environmental strategies, policies, and practices, and driving continuous improvement to global benchmarks
- Track record in leading multidisciplinary teams and fostering community engagement, including experience working with Aboriginal and culturally diverse groups in remote and marginalised settings. Applicants with lived experience in intercultural understanding and community capacity building will be highly regarded.
