About the opportunity

As a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist in the Subacute team, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based, person-centred care to patients undergoing rehabilitation and geriatric evaluation and management. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll support an allocated caseload and contribute to safe, goal-directed discharge planning and functional recovery.

  • You will provide clinical supervision and mentoring to junior staff and Allied Health Assistants, while supporting the day-to-day operational responsibilities within your designated area.
  • You will conduct comprehensive assessments and deliver tailored interventions that promote independence, safety, and wellbeing. This may involve occupation-based retraining and discharge planning for individuals with dementia, musculoskeletal conditions, general deconditioning, stroke and other neurological disorders.
  • No two days are the same, this is a dynamic and rewarding role with a strong focus on occupational outcomes and collaborative care.
  • You will work closely with inter-professional teams to ensure excellence in patient care, and actively advocate for the role of Occupational Therapy across services.
  • You will be part of a supportive department with access to structured supervision, professional development opportunities, and pathways to contribute to service improvement and clinical governance.

What you'll bring

You're resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • A current and full Occupational Therapy registration with AHPRA.
  • Experience in subacute Occupational Therapy assessment, intervention and discharge planning.
  • Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
  • A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
  • The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Full drivers license.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
