About the Role

We're on the hunt for a hands-on and technically capable Workshop Technician to join our high-energy team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, and improvement of our fleet of RIMO electric go karts and their associated electro-mechanical systems, ensuring they're always track-ready, reliable, and safe for our customers.

Reporting directly to the Head Workshop Technician, this is a workshop-based role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced challenging environment and is passionate about precision, safety, and performance of electric vehicle systems.


What You'll Be Doing
  • Performing scheduled servicing, safety checks, and preventative maintenance on our electric karts and workshop infrastructure

  • Diagnosing and repairing faults in:

  • Electro-mechanical drivetrains

  • CANbus communication systems
  • Sensor systems
  • Battery management systems (BMS)
  • PCB components and wiring looms
  • WLAN Modules
  • Carrying out PCB-level diagnostics and repairs, including tracing PCB's, connectors, and components.
  • Ensuring maximum kart uptime and adhering to safety standards, especially during peak times and high-volume events
  • Maintaining accurate service logs, fault reports, and inventory records
  • Supporting mechanical and electrical preparations for corporate events, races, and daily operations

    Assisting with infrastructure and system upgrades across the venue
  • Identifying opportunities to improve vehicle performance, reliability, and maintainability

What the Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Proven experience in a mechanical, automotive, or electro-mechanical technician role (go kart, motorsport, EV, or similar industry preferred)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including braking, steering, chassis, and suspension

  • Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, with hands-on experience working with:

  • CANbus systems

  • PCB fault finding and repair
  • Battery/electric motor troubleshooting
  • Competency using diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering tools, etc.)
  • Welding Experience
  • High attention to detail and pride in producing clean, high-quality workmanship
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and operations teams
  • A self-starter attitude with strong time management skills and a passion for problem-solving
  • Must be happy to work onsite full-time - we have a strict work-from-site-only policy
