Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading of inbound linehaul units.
  • Loading and unloading of local PUD vehicles.
  • Liaison with both local staff, customers and receivers.
  • Operate a yard tug to safely move trailers within the depot.
  • Position trailers for loading and unloading in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conduct routine pre-start inspections of yard equipment to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Maintain clear communication with allocators, operational staff, and drivers to coordinate trailer movements.
  • Ensure proper organisation of trailers within the yard, optimizing space and workflow.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Report any mechanical issues or safety hazards to management immediately.
  • Support other yard and warehouse activities as needed.
  • WHS and COR compliance.
  • Ensuring exceptional levels of visibility and service are provided to our customers at all times.

Key qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in loading and unloading linehaul units.
  • Prior experience operating yard tugs in a transport or logistics environment is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in working within a fast paced, high volume transport environment is a must.
  • You must hold a current MC Drivers Licence (Yard Tug position) and Forklift Licence.

All candidates will need to supply a current Police Check.
