We are seeking a Dental Assistant to join our specialist orthodontic practice in Ivanhoe.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care, and an interest in expanding their knowledge of dentistry. We are dedicated to providing the best possible experience for our patients and are looking for someone enthusiastic to become a skilled dental assistant and member of our orthodontic team.

This position would suit a school leaver or someone wanting an entry-level position in the health industry. You don't need any previous experience, just a willingness to learn. A Certificate III in Dental Assisting involves learning on the job and a traineeship. We are happy to help you achieve the qualification through the prescribed course at RMIT. The Certificate III in Dental Assisting is a 12-18 month traineeship combining on-the-job training with study at RMIT.

If you have no experience in dental assisting but…

  • have a genuine interest in dental health and orthodontic treatment
  • enjoy working with and helping people
  • have a friendly and outgoing personality
  • enjoy good dexterity, sequencing and spatial awareness
  • have good communication and computer skills
  • are willing and able to learn and develop new skills
  • live locally

Duties include managing patient flow, chair-side assisting, instrument sterilisation and processing, surgery preparation, infection control duties, stock control, appointment scheduling and making the patient's appointment and our day go smoothly
