Your Opportunity
We seek talent for our Deal Advisory division at the Analyst, Executive, Manager, Associate Director, and Director levels.

Mergers and Acquisitions
KPMG's Mergers and Acquisitions practice is one of the largest and most successful M&A businesses in Australia with an enviable list of completed transactions across a broad range of industries including technology, consumer markets, healthcare, industrial markets, and mining (services). Our M&A practice prides itself on providing independent corporate advisory services across a range of transactions including acquisitions, divestments, mergers, takeovers, debt advisory, corporate finance, corporate strategy, and capital raisings.

Transaction Services
KPMG's Transaction Services team supports clients across a range of industries with strategic and financial due diligence to help clients assess, plan, evaluate and manage acquisitions, mergers, divestments and initial and secondary debt and equity offerings and beyond. This is a multi-disciplinary and international environment that sits right at the heart of our one KPMG ethos.

Valuations
Companies require reliable valuations for all manner of reasons including to underpin transactions, resolve shareholder disputes, investment valuations and various tax, accounting, and financial reporting reasons. Our Valuation Services group offers technically sound, commercially focused independent valuations for client needs.

Turnaround and Restructuring
KPMG's Turnaround and Restructuring team support underperforming businesses to stabilise and implement change. We are one of the most highly regarded and trusted teams in the industry, taking a national approach to support clients across a wide range of sectors and industries.

We work at speed to deliver options and a runway to stabilise our clients' problems. We are outcomes focussed, implementing strategies that range from an operational turnaround to a financial restructure or, if necessary, a formal insolvency process.

Mergers and Acquisitions

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce or similar, with a strong academic record and ability to commence / continue relevant post graduate studies (CFA, CA, Master of Finance).
  • Diversified M&A, Corporate Finance or Debt Advisory transaction experience preferably within a Big 4, corporate development team and/or investment banking/boutique firm.
  • Have a questioning mind and demonstrate willingness to learn and support the wider team, both locally and nationally.
  • Ability to help lead the day-to-day execution of a full cycle M&A transactions.

Transaction Services

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Law, or other relevant subjects. Ideally with a post-graduate qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, CFA).
  • Recent professional experience in Big 4 / independent corporate advisory, accounting or law firms, investment banking, or within commercial teams in operational businesses.
  • Applicable experiences working across transactions or relevant skills and an interest that will transition into these areas.
  • Strong analytical skills and a commercial flair to generate insights from interpreting data & financial models as well as data analytics.

Valuations

  • Strong analytical (quantitative and qualitative) and report writing skills.
  • Experience in excel-based financial analysis and advantageous if you have financial modelling capabilities.
  • A degree in Commerce or Finance and/or a professional accounting or finance qualification is expected and one to three years' experience in a valuation or similar commercial environment will be beneficial.

Turnaround and Restructuring

  • Recent professional experience in Big 4 / independent corporate advisory, accounting or law firms, investment banking, or within commercial teams in operational businesses.
  • Applicable experiences working across turnaround, restructuring, insolvency, or relevant skills and an interest that will transition into these areas.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Law, or other relevant subjects. Ideally with a post-graduate qualification or on a pathway to complete (e.g., CA, CPA, CFA, ARITA or TMA certification).

Please note, the salary ranges $60k - $250k+ with respect to your level of experience.
