Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Bunbury, Western Australia Brave Bodies Full time $90,000 - $105,000 per year

Are you a passionate senior therapist ready to help shape the future of paediatric care in WA's beautiful South West?

Brave Bodies is a dynamic, practitioner-led paediatric practice on an exciting growth trajectory. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team, taking on a vital senior role within our OT service.

This is a rare opportunity to influence clinical quality, lead service improvements, and grow with a practice that truly values its people and the impact it is making on the community. If you're looking for a role with autonomy, impact, and a lifestyle to match, we want to hear from you.

Why Join Brave Bodies? Our Story & Our Promise.

At Brave Bodies, we see the superhero in every child. We believe therapy should feel like play, and progress should be celebrated with high-fives. Our approach is grounded in three core principles:

  • Evidence-Based, Family-Centred Care: We partner with families, empowering them with the knowledge and tools to succeed. Your expertise will be backed by our commitment to best practice.
  • True Multidisciplinary Collaboration: You'll work hand-in-hand with our dedicated and highly experienced team, which includes PhD-level clinicians. Our team currently consists of Physiotherapists & Occupational Therapists, with future plans to add further allied health disciplines.
  • A Supportive, Fun Culture: We are a team that champions each other. We foster a workplace built on compassion, respect, and a shared passion for helping children and their families thrive.

The Opportunity: Mobile Now, State-of-the-Art Clinics Soon

This role offers incredible variety. You will begin by delivering therapy in the natural environments where children learn and play best – at home, school, and in the community across the Busselton, Bunbury, Dunsborough, and Margaret River region.

This is your chance to join us on the ground floor of our most exciting chapter yet. You will be a foundational senior therapist as we prepare to open our brand-new, purpose-built clinic in Busselton within the next 6-12 months.

Your Role as a Senior Occupational Therapist:

As a Senior OT, you will not only manage a diverse caseload but also be instrumental in our growth. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality, evidence-based assessment and therapy for a varied paediatric caseload (including opportunities to focus on your areas of clinical interest, such as complex developmental needs, sensory processing, or early intervention).
  • Leading service development and quality improvement within our Occupational Therapy team, helping to shape and implement our OT programs for our new clinics.
  • Providing clinical support and opportunities for mentoring junior staff and students as our team grows.
  • Championing a culture of collaboration, fun, and family-centred empowerment.

Flexibility You Deserve – Your Employment, Your Choice

We are committed to finding the best fit for our team and are proud to offer a flexible structure for this senior role.

  • Permanent Part-Time (Our Preference):

  • Join us as a core team member for 2-3 days per week (negotiable) with the aim to expand to full time. Enjoy the security of a top-tier salary package ($90,000 - $105,000 + Super pro-rata), paid leave, and long-term stability.

Alternative employment options we will consider for the right candidate:

  • Independent Contractor:

  • Perfect for the entrepreneurial clinician. Operate under your own ABN and benefit from a generous commission structure (40-50% of billings), full administrative support, and a strong referral base.

  • Casual:

  • Ideal for a skilled OT looking to supplement their income. Receive a competitive casual rate ($60 - $70 per hour + Super).

Our Investment in You: A Leading Benefits Package

We believe in investing in our team's growth and wellbeing. You will receive:

  • Generous Travel Allowance: To comfortably cover your mobile work.
  • Professional Development Support: We encourage and support you to attend and participate in professional development. We assess our level of financial assistance for these on a case-by-case basis.
  • Dedicated Clinical Supervision: Paid, regular 1-on-1 supervision to support you with complex cases and help you achieve your career goals (with external experienced OT).
  • Focus on Wellness & Time-Off: Additional 4 days of annual leave per year (pro-rata).
  • Performance Bonuses: A transparent bonus structure rewarding you for exceeding your targets.
  • Relocation Assistance: We will support relocation to beautiful Busselton for the right candidate and given their individual circumstances.

What You Bring (About You):

  • Full AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of clinical experience, with a strong focus in paediatrics.
  • A passion for play-based, evidence-based, and family-centred care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a collaborative team member.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Highly Regarded: Research experience, experience in mentoring junior staff or students; an interest in service development and quality improvement.

Our expectations and structure, no surprises: We support clinicians to balance quality care with sustainable caseloads of:

  • ~5–6 billable hours per day plus allowing for
  • 1 hour of admin time each day.
  • 1 hour of team meetings each week
  • 1 hour of mentoring or service development each week.
