Maribyrnong City Council is located in Melbourne's inner west and is one of Victoria's most culturally diverse municipalities. The opportunity

  • Are you passionate about public libraries and the impact they make on communities?

Maribyrnong Libraries aims to provide welcoming, progressive libraries which inspire connection, learning and creativity. We are looking for two passionate and driven library programmers to help us deliver thoughtful and impactful programming.

Both roles will be regularly rostered to two customer service shifts each week.

Both roles will lead staff across five branches to create and deliver engaging programs. The Program Leads will build effective partnerships with stakeholders, administrating programming workflows, and contributing to strategic planning within the library service.

About you

You are meticulous, organised and creative with proven relationship building skills. Applicants with strong digital skills and an interest in creative media and arts will be considered favourably.

To be considered for this role, you will have the following:

  • Proven ability to plan, implement and conduct a range of programs and activities in the context of community building, lifelong learning, literacy development and emerging library practice.

  • Excellent communication skills and experience developing partnerships with community organisations.

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively extract & collate data from multiple sources.

  • Qualifications in librarianship or a relevant field such as education, event management, communications or digital media.
