Experienced Chef – Busy Coastal Venue | Mornington Peninsula
Located just 3km from Rye Beach
We're on the lookout for a skilled and motivated Chef to join the kitchen team at a dynamic coastal venue offering a diverse menu of seasonal mains, house-made desserts, wine-paired specials, and themed nights. With breakfast service launching soon, we're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and thrive in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare and cook dishes to spec across lunch, dinner, and breakfast (coming soon)
- Support the execution of weekly specials and set menu offerings (e.g. Pasta Night, Steak Night)
- Work across all kitchen sections as required (grill, pans, prep, etc.)
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency on every dish
- Follow food safety, hygiene and OH&S standards at all times
- Assist in daily prep, stock rotation, and general cleaning duties
- Communicate effectively with FOH to ensure smooth service flow
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 4-5 years' experience in a commercial kitchen (à la carte service preferred)
- Solid technical skills across a variety of cuisines and service styles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working across a 7-day rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
- A proactive attitude and passion for consistent, quality food
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (preferred)
- Food Safety Handling Certificate and understanding of kitchen hygiene standards
- Experience in breakfast or brunch service a bonus
- Prefer someone who lives in nearby suburbs (upto 30mins travel is fine) or willing to move in the region.
