Our Opportunity

Due to significant growth and increasing demand across Queensland, NEPEAN Power is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to lead our estimating and tendering activities for Queensland-based projects.

This is a senior strategic role, ideal for an accomplished estimator with strong industry connections, deep technical knowledge, and a proven ability to secure high-value contracts. You will be pivotal in supporting NEPEAN Power's continued growth within the Queensland mining, resources, and industrial markets.

Your Role

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the preparation of detailed, competitive, and technically compliant estimates for Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and tenders originating from Queensland customers.

• Developing comprehensive cost models including materials, labour, subcontractors, plant, and preliminary costs for large-scale electrical projects.

• Analysing tender documentation, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing strategic pricing recommendations to maximise win rates and profitability.

• Collaborating with Business Development, Engineering, and Project Management teams to ensure smooth project handovers and alignment of scope and budget.

• Mentoring junior estimators and improving estimating tools, templates, and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Queensland market rates, labour conditions, and major project developments.

The Right Person

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience as a Electrical Estimator with a strong track record of securing and delivering large-scale projects.

• Proven ability to interpret complex technical specifications, drawings, and contract documentation (AS/NZ Standards).

• Experience across diverse industry sectors including:

  • Resources and Mining

  • Infrastructure

  • Commercial and Industrial Projects

• Advanced proficiency with estimating software, project management tools, and Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

• A proactive and strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and influence outcomes.

• Highly desirable: established industry relationships within the following sectors:

  • Queensland mining and resources

  • Renewable Energy Projects (Solar, Wind, Battery Energy Storage Systems)

  • Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Sector

  • Tier 1 and Tier 2 Contractors
