The Role
  • Provide expert guidance and strategic leadership on governance matters.
  • Lead the development and delivery of secretariat and governance services for principal governing bodies and controlled entities.
  • Oversee policy development and the implementation of a University-wide policy management framework.
  • Manage induction, training, and ongoing development for Council and Senate members.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and reporting obligations.
  • Foster strong relationships across the University and with external stakeholders to support transparent and effective governance.
About You
  • Tertiary qualifications ideally Corporate Governance or Law.
  • Extensive experience as a Corporate Secretary or senior governance leader.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, implement governance frameworks, and manage strategic issues with clarity and professionalism in a large and complex environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships, influence and provide sound, ethical counsel at the highest levels.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the Higher Education sector is desirable.
