Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Clinical Nurse consultant to join the Specialist Clinic team.Full time and part-time will be considered.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses:Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About the Role:

We are seeking experienced and motivated Outpatients Clinical Nurse Consultants (CNC) to join our Outpatient Services team. This role is pivotal in supporting clinical auditing of the Outpatient Surgical Waiting List and managing referral pathways to ensure timely access to care. It will support a targeted project to review, manage, and streamline patient referrals and waitlists. The role will ensure accurate data collection, appropriate referral management, and the presentation of project outcomes at completion.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting clinical reviews of patient referrals and waitlists.
Managing referral pathways and patient communication.
Coordinating nurse-led clinics and triage processes.
Leading quality improvement projects and contributing to strategic initiatives.
Providing expert clinical support and education to nursing staff.
Acting as a clinical role model and supporting patient-centred care.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Essential

Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, preferably five years post-registration experience.
Advanced clinical assessment, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills

Desirable:

Project management skills and strategic thinking.
Highly developed ICT skills, comprehensive working knowledge of Northern Health software (CPF, iPM, EMR, Excel, Q Flow)
Experience in clinical audits and waitlist management.
Experience and good working knowledge of Specialist Clinics Access Policy
