About the Role:MTC is seeking a Casual Risk Analyst to join our team at the Villawood Immigration Detention Centre. This role is ideal for an operational risk professional looking for flexible work around family commitments or other responsibilities.
As a Risk Analyst, you'll contribute to people-related risk decisions that directly impact people's lives by providing clear, transparent, and defensible risk assessments. You'll be working closely with the Department and operational teams to ensure processes are accurate, ethical, and fully compliant with legislation and organisational standards.
We're seeking candidates with hands-on, operational experience in detention, corrections, or immigration services. This is not a corporate, cyber or finance-focused risk role.
Hours:- Monday–Friday: 1800–0600
- Saturday–Sunday: 0600–1800 or 1800–0600
- Up to 4 shifts per week
Villawood Immigration Detention Centre, with on-site parking. No remote work available.
In your new role, you will:- Support risk assessments across facilities, detainee management, and transport.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and standards.
- Deliver clear, evidence-based assessments that consider more than just history.
- Contribute to safe, secure, and humane transport of detainees.
- Stay agile and responsive to changing operational needs.
- Background in justice, corrections, law enforcement, immigration, or detention services.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- The ability to balance sensitivity, transparency, and operational priorities.
- A detail-driven approach with a focus on compliance and quality.
- Ability to pass health assessments and hold/obtain Working with Children Check
- Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination
