
Teacher - Food Technology - Gledswood Hills High School

Gledswood Hills High School is the new high school supporting the communities of Gregory Hills and Gledswood Hills with a current enrolment of 88 students, drawing students from the local feeder schools, Gregory Hills Public School and Gledswood Hills Public School. The school is located in the South Western Sydney growth corridor which has seen exponential growth of residential housing over the past ten years.
The school opened on a pop-up site at the commencement of Term 1, 2025 for Year 7 students only. This site is located on the grounds of Gregory Hills Public School. In 2026, the school will cater for Year 7 and 8 students on the pop-up site. The new school build is expected to be open in Term 1, 2027.
This role is for the position of a Food Technology teacher. The teacher will be responsible for leading curriculum design for Food Technology and contributing to a 4 hour per week integrated curriculum model. The successful applicant will also support the curriculum needs of a new and developing school, including the design and implementation of Technology Mandatory (Years 7 and 8).
Selection CriteriaApproval to teach Technology Mandatory (Years 7 and 8), Food Technology, VET Hospitality – Food and Beverage, and VET Hospitality – Commercial Cookery.
Capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues in the design, implementation and evaluation of whole school programmes to meet the differentiated learning needs of a diverse range of students in a new and developing school.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with teachers across KLAs on innovative learning and assessment.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
