Your Role
Are you passionate about inspiring young people to get involved in social justice and community action? As a Youth Engagement Officer, you'll play a key part in strengthening youth participation across the St Vincent de Paul Society. You'll work collaborately with uni students, young professionals, community members and volunteers to bring fresh energy into our mission, delivering projects and events that empower young people aged 18-35 years old to make a real impact.
Your Responsibility
- Coordinate and deliver youth engagement programs, initiatives, events and campaigns.
- Support social justice and advocacy projects for young people in the region.
- Build strong connections with university and other tertiary organisations, as well as local community groups and networks.
- Work closely with Vinnies Members and volunteers to grow youth participant and impact.
- Use social media and digital platforms to engage and inspire young audiences.
- Provide admin, project, and communications support to ensure smooth delivery of activities.
- Occasionally attend evening or weekend events to connect with youth and to coordinate youth programs.
You Will Need
- Experience working with and engaging young people.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills.
- Project coordination experience and the ability to manage priorities.
- Confidence using social media and digital tools for engagement.
- NSW driver licence and willingness to travel across the region.
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.
- Tertiary studies in Human Services, Teaching or Community Work are a bonus but not essential.
