Primary objective
Provides appropriate, proficient, coordinated service programs, sound clinical and management advice, and may provide direct clinical care
for complex client presentations within the specialty area.
Context statement
The role is responsible for the clinical governance for the introduction of new equipment and products including clinical equipment trials,
coordination of medical equipment including standardization across RDPH, education and training for staff, local management of TGA
medical equipment recalls and alerts and oversight of the repair and maintenance of clinical equipment in a central area for is as required.
This position also manages a small team of staff and is required to complete rosters
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Apply clinical knowledge and management skills and attributes to refine the practical aspects of how nursing/midwifery services are
provided, and how quality is assured, in day-to-day service delivery within a defined practice area.
2. Accountable for providing sound professional advice for assessment, planning, review, evaluation, and coordination of service
programs for individuals, groups or communities within the speciality area.

- Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in
order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
- Demonstrated highly developed clinical knowledge and management skills in an area of nursing/midwifery relating to this vacancy,
supporting well-developed decision-making and problem solving to enable delivery of high-quality clinical services.
3. Demonstrated ability to review and evaluate service delivery, including interpreting established professional precedents and
organisational policies, and supporting change management as required for operational effectiveness.
4. Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive work environment, modifying work practices where necessary to meet the needs of
healthcare consumers and staff.
5. Demonstrated use of effective communication skills to influence and convince staff and/or clients, including on sensitive matters
requiring tact and diplomacy.
6. Demonstrates well-developed knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and sensitivities that influence
health care provision for individuals and groups.
Desirable
1. Graduate Certificate beyond entry-to-practice relevant to specialty area.
